When I saw the lights blazing a path across the dark West Texas sky in 2000, I had no idea the impact the community of Abilene would have on my life. I had no idea that this city would provide me a place of romance for my future marriage, a place of birth for my two girls, and a place of entertainment and culture for our lives together. Abilene, Texas, is no ordinary town. I have lived all around Abilene as I have journeyed through various parts of my life: Dyess AFB area, Brookhollow area, South Abilene in Fairway Oaks, and in the surrounding areas of Abilene such as Tuscola and Hamby. At every point in my journey, I have experienced welcoming community and lifelong friends. As a United States Air Force veteran, a McMurry grad, and a former Texas teacher, I have found my forever home in Abilene, Texas, and I’d love to find you yours!
